I went to my sisters’ place and stayed there. Right next to their place was my parents’ place. So my sisters did have their dreams realized. Janice is an engineer and Ruby owns her own restaurant. My father still works as the president of an insurance company. He still has five years before his retirement. As for my mother, she’s just at home working on her cross-stitching and her aquarium. I’m not worried. They have a pretty good pension plan.
I visited my favorite aunt at Cainta. After that, I went to the mall. As I was walking inside, I saw this shop named, ‘KC.’ so I went inside and saw that it was a boutique and hobby shop. One of the salesladies asked me if I needed something. I told her I was just browsing. I asked her what KC stood for. She said that KC stood for the names of the founders of the business, Kayne and Carl. Huh! Karen and Carol? Then I asked her where they were. The saleslady said that they were at a fashion convention at Paris. I told her, ‘This must be a very successful business.’ Then she said, ‘It should be. There are 53 other branches all over the country and 10 outside.’ Carol and Karen did make it good.
That evening, I went to a bistro to relax. That night’s special guest was the band of Dexter and Nelson. They just came from their world tour. Even though I didn’t enjoy country music that much, I stayed and listened to their music. They’re my friends after all.
Two weeks have passed and I have to go back to Cebu. At the PNA, I saw Karen and Carol who also arrived from Paris. I told them I heard about their success with their business. Like old times, we had lunch together. We had a little catching up to do. They had to go to Manila the next day. Both their husbands also have their own business. Like Carol and Karen, they’re partners.
The final days of my vacation were over. As for the others that I never heard from or seen, I could only guess what lives they now have. I’m just happy because I know that most of them have successful lives. Who would have thought that they would make it big? And I mean big, very big.
As for me, I went home to my sweet, caring, and loving wife and to my beloved twins. The next time I go back to the Philippines, I’m gonna bring them with me so my wife would see our old friends and my children would see what a nice place the Philippines is.
End.

Future Sight Pt. 5
One week has passed and I had to go to La Union to visit my grandmother’s grave before I go to Manila and visit my parents and sisters as well as the rest of my extended family. I said goodbye to Rhodora and her family and thanked them for their company. I thanked my doctor as well because I stayed at his place for one week.
I arrived at La Union at about 10 o’clock in the morning. I still have 2 hours before I get back on my way to Manila. I lit up a candle and said a little prayer. That was the only time that I visited my grandmother’s grave. As I was about to lay the flowers down, I gazed upon the name on the tombstone next to my grandmother’s. It’s the name of the person that I have hated the most. I hated him even though I never really knew him. I gave him the nickname of ‘Trigger Happy.’ I realized that I never did forgive him for what he has done to me a long time ago. I guess it was high time that I did. I took one of the roses and laid it down on his grave. I’ll never know how he ended up being dead. But I do know one thing; he’s just a man capable of making mistakes and he deserves another chance. But it was too late.
I wanted to see the changes since I’ve left and a ride on a bus was the ticket. On a stop over at Pangasinan, a familiar face came inside the bus and sat beside me. Jeffrey? Well, well, well. I never thought I’d see him. He said he’s the chief engineer on research and development at UR. Good for him. He said a lot has changed since I was gone. He wasn’t always successful. But he learned a lot. He had to strive hard because he married at an early age and had to support his family. As far as I can see it, he’s doing quite well and I am very proud of what he has accomplished.
We parted ways at the bus terminal. I will never be sure if I’ll see him again. I only had three weeks left on my vacation. So little time yet so many places to go to and so many people to see.

Future Sight Pt. 4
It was time to visit the school where I graduated from, Saint Louis University. I opted to visit the president of the school because I heard that the president is the priest who helped us out when we were still in high school. A smiling Geraldine Siagto greeted me at the door. She told me that she is the Vice President of the school. She also told me that Dr. Vincent Tabor is the chief resident of Saint Louis Hospital, which, she adds, is the top rated hospital in all of the country. I wanted to see him but he wasn’t around. He was on vacation at Boracay with his wife and kids.
As Gig’z and I were walking, she gave me a book. It was titled, ‘The Infinite Powers of the Human Mind: How to Make People Follow Your Every Command.’ To my amazement, Candice Balud authored the book. I always thought that she would be successful, but not like this. She has unleashed her power of hypnotism and it was so strong that I sent her a Ferrari just after reading her book. I haven’t seen her in years so it was fine with me. A Ferrari is nothing compared to the help she has given me before. And besides, there’s a lot where that Ferrari came from.
At my doctor’s place, I turned on the TV to watch WBL, World Basketball League. It was the Philippines vs. Russia. There was nothing Russia can do. Russia was down by 19 points at the end of the game. I wouldn’t be surprised. The best basketball player since Michael Jordan played for the Philippine team. And that player is Glenn Moyano. He’s now a sports superstar.
I took a stroll down Burnham Park on the next day and saw Leslie. She was with a bunch of children. I didn’t want to bother her with her work but she saw me and walked towards me. Then she said, ‘Pakain ka nga.’ Some things do stay the same. But at that time, I readily said yes. We went to a corner store and bought fish balls. Hey. It was better than nothing. And like I said, some things do stay the same. I asked her if all those children were hers. She said that she was just helping them out. It’s part of her job. She went back to her work and I went on my way.
I felt like I have been walking for hours. Then I reached the Baguio Convention Center. There was something going on inside so I went in. I sat down and listened to the person delivering a speech. I looked at her face and thought. She looked familiar. After her speech, I went to her and asked her if I knew her. We looked at each other’s faces for a while then it hit me. Oh my! It’s Rhodora. The closest friend I have ever had. It’s been more than 20 years since I last saw her. The only things that I had of her were the pictures she gave me when we were still in high school. She was just 16 back then. But now, she’s a very successful career woman with a loving husband and a five-year old son. I was just so happy for her. She invited me for lunch and I happily accepted. She was my tour guide for the rest of my stay in Baguio.

Future Sight Pt. 3
On the next day, I had to take a flight to Baguio. Another flight, another lag. But I’m used to it.
On that one-and-a-half-hour flight, I sat next to Atty. Pedregosa. He said he was on vacation and he was going to visit Red Cross. I asked him what has been going on at the local chapter while I was gone. He said that Andres Ramos III is now one of the big guys of the Red Cross. That was no big surprise to me. Jhim and Froi now own their own engineering firm. Jhun now works in a research lab at Vietnam, probably working on a new miracle drug. As for the rest of the guys, I was to see them for myself because I decided to join him on his visit to the chapter.
At the chapter, I saw Ate Ma-an. She was still there. I was no longer a Pledge 25 member because I was already old for that. But I still gave 450 cc of blood for old time’s sake. Kuya Bobby, Jeff, Naki, and Arnel were no where in sight so I asked Ate Ma-an where they were. It turned out that she had no idea where they were.
It was time to say goodbye because I had to go ‘home’ to the place where I grew up. It was time to see that place once again even though my parents and sisters no longer live there. I just wanted to see that place one more time. It’s a good thing that my doctor still lived there. He let me stay at their place while I was in Baguio.
I toured the whole city and found a really amazing building. I found out that Wilgie, a well-known architect, designed that building. That building looked like a flame. Well, that’s what I think, at least. That building is known as the trade center of the whole city and is the pride and joy of its citizens.

Future Sight Pt. 2
After I have settled down at the hotel, I noticed that I have left one of my bags at the airport. I went back and guess who was the head of customs; Aristotle Yalung. Actually, he’s the Chief of Customs. He’s just there and it was my lucky day. He invited me for lunch and I accepted. It’s been 16 years and I still don’t pass on a free meal. Some things never change.
We had a chat while having lunch, of course. It’s been years since I last saw him. Then suddenly, some stupid question popped in my head. I asked him what ever happened between the rivalry of GMA and ABS-CBN. I was surprised with his answer. He said that there is neither a GMA nor an ABS-CBN, there’s just WTV. He told me that Reginald Wong bought both of the stations and made the most successful TV station in all of Asia. That was a real accomplishment as far as I was concerned. And to think Reg was just an engineer for ABS-CBN when I left nine years ago. Amazing.
The time to part with Aris had to come once again. We said ‘good luck’ to each other and went our ways.
I went to a nearby mall to go on a window-shopping just before I go to Baguio the next day. I was nosing around when I saw this toy. It wasn’t a kid’s toy. It looked like a calculator or laptop in about the size of a tamagochi. A saleslady came to me and said that Paul Ryan Ballesteros invented that toy. Wow! It’s another one of those surprises. When I looked at the saleslady, it was Ate Donna. I almost didn’t recognize her because she was slim. She told me she owned the place so she wasn’t a saleslady, no doubt about that.

Future Sight Pt. 1
(Written in 2000. A little glimpse of the future. For me, at least. It's a bit long so I cut it up into six parts. Don't worry, this is one of those old stuff that I have that didn't suffer editing. The acknowledgement says, 'Special thanks to those guys whose names have been mentioned in this short story. As for the ones not mentioned, you are also thanked for your future is not held by a hand.')
It’s been 16 years since I’ve graduated. Among my friends, I was the last one to graduate. Poor me, but still I was lucky because every time one of my friends graduated, I got to eat . . . a lot.
I’m now working as the president of a company that makes Triphlon, a substance that has replaced gasoline for the last ten years. Why am I the president? I should be. I invented Triphlon. I’m currently residing at a subdivision located just outside the city limits. Oh! I forgot to tell you what city. It’s the city of Paris. My plans of going to the US never came to because of the sudden drop of the county’s economy.
I just arrived a week ago from a month’s vacation in the Philippines and a lot have happened.
The Philippines is now one of Southeast Asia’s economic giants. Number three, following Vietnam and Indonesia. Surprising, isn’t it? Vietnam; we ignored that country so much that they were able to develop some kind of miracle drug. And Indonesia rose from its ashes right after it’s major revolt. It took her five years to attain her present rank overpowering Japan, Unified Korea, and even China.
I first stayed at this hotel near the Philippine National Airport located at the country’s new capital, Cebu City. It was a big surprise for me. I was in Paris watching CNN when Joanne Suyam, one of their anchors, reported that Christopher Panapan is the new president of the Philippines. Pretty young for a president but he’s a born ruler. He overthrew the reign of Miriam Santiago who ruled for about 14 years. One of Kryss’ decrees was to make Cebu the new capital of the Philippines because of it’s being the center of trade in the Southeast Asian region.

Quotes Returns
(The second batch of quotes. Completed in 1997. Same as the first batch, I'll take out some, if not all of the Tagalog quotes.)
Hi! Boys and girls. Here I am again. I told you, "When there's a first, there's a second." Again, you will read quotes that maybe you have read before. Some of these are like the first ones, expressions, great ideas, plain stupidity or just a slip of the tongue.
Before I begin, I am not going to thank everybody because I just did during the first one, instead, I would like to thank you, the readers, this time, so don't expect me to thank you in the next one. And I know that there's going to be one.
"Aweting Odor."
- Command and Conquer: Red Alert, must be said with a Soviet accent
"It's my destiny."
- Glenn Angelo Turalba
"Punyeta!"
- Antonio Banderas
"In my heart I know it's true, Love is simply you."
- Nido, The World's No. 1
"My one regret in life is that I am not someone else."
- Woody Allen
"Love is an irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired."
- Robert Frost
"The impossible is often the untried."
- Jim Goodwin
"Anyone who is happy all the time must be mad."
- Leo Rosten
"Character is destiny"
- Heraclitus
"The best mirror is a friend."
- George Herbert
"I hate it when people talk during the movie."
- Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze from the movie, Batman and Robin
"Excelsior!"
- Stan Lee
"Sounds good. Tastes even better."
- Dunkin Donuts
Well, again, that's it for the second batch. It looks a bit shorter that the first one but it's good enough for me. There will be a third one, take note of that. I'm not gonna describe the next one because that'll be giving things away. I want to have a little bit of suspense (Just in case you haven't noticed, the next one would still be quotations). And for my so-long-quote, I leave you with the famous line from the movie, Terminator, which is, "I'll be back."

The Mind of a Badd_Guy
(Written in 2000 for '3.' The acknowledgement says, 'Thanks to those bad guys. If not for them, we shall never appreciate the good.')
Never ever tell me what to do
Never ever tell me what I'll be
I shall never bow to you
I'll be as mean as I want to be
What in the world do you think is this?
Smelly shit and pungent piss
I'll never fall by your tempting kiss
I'll be content with my deep, dark bliss
I was born forth to dominate the weak
Overpower those who think they won't die
I shall spread fear over those who are meek
For if fear holds power, then a god am I
Never ever tell me what to do
Never ever tell me what I'll be
I shall never bow to you
I'll be as mean as I want to be
What in the world do you think is this?
Smelly shit and pungent piss
I'll never fall by your tempting kiss

Split Second
(Written in 2001. A very short story about regret)
The sound of metal rails breaking and crashing filled my head. The view of empty space before me cleared it out. Silence came.
I remember the time when I used to play hind and seek with my friends. I was just seven years old back then. I would hide behind my big, fat uncle and no one would find me. Yes, he was that big. I wish I could go back and play again.
I remember the time when I had a crush on my fifth grade classmate. I would look at her as often as I possibly could. As far as I was concerned, she and I were the only people in the classroom. Then one time at recess, I stole a kiss from her. She was so surprised with what I did so she slapped me but I didn't mind. I sure wish I could go back.
I remember the time when I picked a fight with my high school classmate. I had bruises all over my body but I was fortunate because my face was spared so my mom didn't notice I got into a fight. I was too proud not to accept a challenge. I wish I could go back and chose to swallow my pride. That way, we didn't have a fight.
I remember the time when I would take strolls with my high school buddies. We would follow good-looking girls and try to talk to them. Every time we did that, we forget all the bad things in our lives. We stroll like there would be no tomorrow. I wish I could go back. Life was much fun then.
I remember the time when I attended my first college class. I still had some of my old friends with me but it was no easy task anymore but we didn't care. We had each other then. I wish I could go back. I really do wish I could.
I remember the time when I had my most serious relationship. It wasn't like the past ones that I didn't even seem to care about the girl. She cared for me so much that I changed a lot just for her. I gave up my most earthly desires. We had to part ways for the reason that she was hurt with what I have done. Why have been I so stupid and insensitive? She has given me so much and I gave her pain in return. I wish I could go back; try to fix it and start from scratch. It was worth the try.
I remember the time when I received my first paycheck. It was an achievement that I was so happy about. It was the very first sign of true independence. It was not like a part-time job or a summer job. It was more than those. I wish I could go back. The feeling was indeed fulfilling.
I remember the time when I had a little too much to drink. How could I forget? That was just an hour ago. I drove my car not considering the dangers that might happen. I wish I could go back and not have that much to drink or not drink at all.
I have crashed through the metal rails along the cliff and there's no turning back. I wish I could go back and do the wonderful things that I used to do. I wish I could go back and change the wrong decisions that I have made. But I can't, not now, not ever. All I have to do now is to wait for the very last sound that I'll ever hear and I wish it were laughter.
CRASH!

CRASH!

Random Thoughts (from FLBB)
(This was written back in 1998 (FLBB stands for Funny Little Black Book). This is one of the few things I wrote having the title, Random Thoughts. In the succeeding writings, I figured I use 'other' thoughts until I came up with my other blog's name, Canned Thoughts, which was also a title of a few articles I've written. I took out a couple of paragraphs to shorten it. Yes, I know. It has a topic about sex and it even mentioned that I haven't done it, yet. So what, that was ages ago. Now is different.)
Let's take a breather for a while and think about anything; the universe, magic, love, hate, understanding, sex, aliens, whatever. What do you usually think about when you're not doing anything at all? Of course, we think of different things because we are different people. Let me write this thing as we go along. Type what I'm thinking about or whatever enters my mind.
Friendship. That's a very big thing, don't you think? What if you spent your whole childhood with a friend of the opposite sex. Some would find it corny, really. You can't make a move without telling him or her. It's actually nice to have one. You're there to support one another and help one another in times of need. So, you both have grown into mature individuals. You now have your own lives. But you see each other occasionally. Do you think that there's a chance for you two to be together in life as lovers? We can't really say. Most of the time, it's sad to lose someone that close to you. If he or she gets along with another person, you sometimes regret the things you've done. Hey, who said life was fair? But in the end, even though you never got together, you would still remain as friends no matter what.
Enough of the mushy stuff. I don't want to cry or anything. Taking a look around, you would sometimes notice an empty space. Space. It's big. It's wide. Is there really somebody else out there? I guess so. Because if there's none, it would be a very big waste of space. Is that space meant to be for humans alone? Maybe. In the time when our sun dies, which will be a very long time from now, where would our species go? Maybe that space is meant for us. Of course, we can't really tell for sure. How do we explain the so-called sightings of UFO's? Some would say, "I'd believe it when I see it." but would eventually freak out when they do. It's a good thing that the governments of the world aren't freaking out because some thin that they know and saw. But that's none of my concern now because I've bigger fish to fry.
How about sex. Never tried it, yet. Some say it's good, while some say otherwise. What do you think? There's this girl I had a chat with. She was , I guess, over sexed or something. I was surprised but not shocked. I asked her for it anyway. It was at the IRC (server) quarterdeck or zed. Look for a channel that sounds perverted. Trust me, there's a lot of them out there. That's the typical sex in the internet for you. Cybervirgins, beware!
Here's something that I think you've already seen; Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. Near the end when the bad guy was playing chess by himself; notice that the chess pieces suddenly vanished when Ace cam in and told him what he found out. I guess the director forgot that. Or how about the movie Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, while Sonya was fighting Meleena, she was all muddy all over. After a while, she was squeaky clean. Where did she take a bath? I don't know.
Okay. That's enough. Writing things that go through your mind is not really hard. You can write all you want. The problem is that you won't have much space to write it on. You know what I mean?

Quotes
(This is one of my older works. Completed in 1997, this literally launched by writing career. Career, what a word. It took me a while to compile all of the quotes. I got the Idea from a game I played. I forgot the name of the game. C'mon, it was more than a decade ago. I took out some of the quotes because the entire thing is 15 pages long and most of it is in Tagalog so many of you might not understand.)
Greetings! This compilation of quotations is nothing more than a bunch of bologna. Everything that you will read is true, therefore, you must take it as it is and don't bother changing any. That's why they're called quotes, lame brain. However, if you would like to disagree with me, feel free to shut up.
Before anything else, I would like to thank all the people who contributed to this compilation though some of them are already dead and some never really existed. My friends whose names sometimes appear more than once. My Instructors who sometimes don't have the slightest idea of what they're saying. The really great people who have said great things that make us more human. Of course, who would forget the man named Anonymous, for without his words, we will not be enlightened. My relatives. And of course, myself. Hey, I did something, too.
"If you don't have anything else to do, just go home and plant kamote."
- Sir Las Marias
"If you don't know the answer, go ask the janitor."
- Sir Las Marias
"You can't kiss a girl unexpectedly ----- only sooner than she thought you would."
- Jack Seaman
"Necessity is the mother of invention'"
- Anonymous, See what I mean. His words enlighten us.
"Erika!"
- Richard
"Richard!"
- Erika
"Don't go away mad. Just go away."
- Some alligator
"Better keep that assignment or else I will put that in your anus."
- Sir Las Marias, This guy is one heck of a 'bleep'
"You're old when you forget how to start your rocking chair."
- Anonymous
"Love is blind; friendship tries not to notice."
- Otto von Bismarck
"You should get rid of your expressions like the 'shh' and the 'fff'."
- Sir Gerard Espiritu
"If at first you don’t succeed, try again but don't beat on a dead horse."
- Marc Peter Thomann
"As soon as you cannot keep anything from a woman, you love her."
- Paul Geraldy
"Love is not blind ---- it sees more, not less. But because it sees more, it is willing to see less."
- Rabbi Julius Gordon
"Keep your eyes and mind open, and believe in the impossible."
- Harry Blackstone, a magician
"Be kind to your friends. If it weren't for them you'd be a total stranger."
- Iowa Farm Equipment Retailer
"They insult us by not surrendering and begging for their lives."
- Gladiator, Gambit and the X-Ternals #2, April 1995
"Mess with the best. Die like the rest."
- Crash Override aka Zero Cool, from the movie 'Hackers'
Well, I guess that's it for the first batch. There will be a second batch, of course, because if there's a first, there's a second and a third, etc., and because quotes come and don't go. They keep coming. You might not notice it but that thing that you are thinking now might be the next stupid quote to be written here. No offence but it's true. You might say something stupid enough to be written here or maybe something that sounds so good and complicated that it makes me say, 'Duh!.'

Obsolete Darkness (Revised)
(Written in 2007. This has never been printed out.... Ever.)
The Random Introduction of the Weirdomorbidasentimentahumoristicaserious Thoughts
Almost all introductions start from the very beginning, so here goes nothing:
In the beginning, there was darkness. Then came light, the Earth and the Heavens, the beautiful creatures, the amoeba and protozoan of the pre-Cambrian period, the dinosaurs of the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous Era, the mastodon and the sabre-toothed tiger of the ice age, the arrival of Nibiru, and finally, homo-sapiens. But wait, there's more. There's still the Thirty- and Hundred-year Wars, the French Revolution, WWI and WWII, Star Wars, the Vietnam and Gulf Wars, and the War on Terror. That would be too far into the beginning and most of it is speculation.
A good book contains pieces of great value and achievement. Each piece is thought of and screened up to the very last word. There is a sense of responsibility on the part of the writer. Not! Tell that to the many people who write their autobiographies in a very kinky way. In a word, WRONG. Writing a book is plain and simple. Just write about your sexual fantasies about everyone, compile them and you've got yourself a book. Books, however, are getting scarce by the day with the onslaught of technology. Almost every literary thing is going digital. Heck, you might find this on the net instead of a good, old-fashioned, tangible, paper back or hard bound. But writing is writing. Everyone has the right to write. Just be careful of writing libellous stuff or something that would violate Copyright laws.
We write every single idea we could possibly think of. Imagine how much brain cells I've burned out just writing this introduction.
